Monitoring & Stress-Test Software

Web pages cannot read GPU temperatures, clock speeds, fan speeds or power draw. Pair a browser test with a monitoring tool to see what the hardware is doing while it runs. These are independent third-party programs; check each publisher’s site for current downloads and licensing.

Monitoring

  • GPU-Z – detailed GPU specifications and live sensor graphs for temperature, clocks, load, memory and power.
  • MSI Afterburner – monitoring, an on-screen overlay and fan or power tuning for most GPU brands.
  • HWiNFO – comprehensive system sensors, including CPU and motherboard.

Native stress tests

  • FurMark – an intense, power-hungry load for thermal and stability testing. Use with care.

How to combine them

Open the monitoring tool, start a Stress My GPU test such as the Thermal Throttle Test, and watch temperature and clocks. If clocks drop while temperature plateaus, the verdict’s Endurance score should show it too. Read our guide on thermal throttling for what to do next.
