About this tool
- Latency and jitter from ten small requests, as minimum, median and the average change between pings.
- Download from one-at-a-time transfers of 1, 2 and 4 MB, plus four transfers in parallel.
- Upload from four transfers of 256 KB to 1 MB.
The first request of each kind is a warm-up and is thrown away.
How to read the results
The result describes the path between you and this site’s server, not your full internet capacity. If the server is far from you or busy, the numbers will look lower than your plan. Small transfers are also held back by latency, so the parallel download is usually the closest to your real download speed.
Getting steadier results
- Pause downloads, backups and video calls on the network.
- If you are on Wi-Fi, move closer to the router, or try a cable.
- Run the test a few times and compare, since a single run can be thrown off by a short burst of traffic.

Why is my speed lower than my plan?
This measures the route to one server, over short transfers. Distance, server load, Wi-Fi and other devices all affect it.
Why does the test say I ran it too often?
To protect the site, each visitor can run a limited number of transfers per hour. Wait a while and try again.
Is anything stored?
No. The server sends random bytes and discards what you upload.
Why is the result lower than my plan?
The test measures the path to this website's server, which may be far away or busy. A line test from a closer server will read higher.
How much data does it use?
About 20 MB for a full run.
