GPU Stress Test Online

This online GPU stress test pushes your graphics card to sustained load and shows how it behaves. It runs in your browser with nothing to install, and you can stop at any time with the Esc key.

About this tool

What a stress test tells you

A stress test shows whether a card stays stable under heavy load. The Endurance axis of the SMG Verdict compares the end of the run with the start, which exposes thermal and power throttling. Frame-time spikes point to driver or memory problems, and artefacts or crashes suggest an unstable overclock or failing hardware.

NVIDIA, AMD and Intel

The test works the same on any vendor, including integrated graphics. Use the GPU info tool to confirm which GPU your browser is actually using, especially on laptops with two GPUs.

Windows, macOS and Linux

Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS can run the tests, which is handy when a desktop utility is not available.

How to read the results

A steady result keeps the same frame rate from start to finish. Check the Endurance axis first: a drop of 20% or more between the early and late part of the run points to heat or power limits. Then look at the Spike control and Pacing axes; frequent hitches under load can mean an unstable overclock or a driver problem.

A pass means this run showed no sign of trouble at this load. It does not prove the card is stable forever, and a browser cannot read temperatures, so use a monitoring tool alongside it.

How to stress test safely

  • Start with the 30-second Quick GPU Check, then move to longer runs.
  • Watch temperatures with a monitoring tool and make sure case fans work.
  • Stop at once for artefacts, black screens, extreme fan noise or a very hot device.
  • Avoid long Extreme runs on laptops and phones, and on cards with known cooling faults.

Frequently asked questions

Is a browser stress test safe?

Browser tests are lighter than dedicated burn-in tools, and browsers limit what a page can do. A healthy, cooled GPU should be fine. Stop if anything looks or sounds wrong.

How long should I run it?

Use 30 to 60 seconds for a check and 5 to 10 minutes to look for thermal throttling.

Can it replace FurMark?

No. Desktop tools apply a heavier, longer load. This is a quick, safe first check.

Can a stress test damage my GPU?

A normal test is no more demanding than a heavy game and cards are built with thermal protection. Still, stop at once if the screen shows artefacts, the fans sound unusual or the system freezes, and make sure the vents are clear before long runs.

Why does the test not use 100% of my GPU?

The browser limits how much one web page can use, and the work is capped by your display refresh rate on light settings. Raise the intensity to load the card harder; the rigorous presets stack the load further.
